A rejuvenating retreat from the daily rigors of urban living, with an extraordinary and refreshing array of features and scenically located by the ancient ‘Tissa Wewa”, The Safari – Tissa comprise 50 rooms, a main dining restaurant, spacious pool area, volleyball court and tennis courts. It is also strategically located close to many places of religious and cultural interest such as much visited Shrine in Kataragama, the great pilgrim shrine, which is dedicated to Skanda, a popular Hindu deity.
We have received the following advice:
“We would like to bring to your notice that, as per the Department of Wildlife, Yala National Park will be closed to visitors between 1st to 30th September.
The annual park closure was put on hold for a few years in the recent past due to various influences, but we believe that it’s a welcome decision to have an undisturbed park at least for a month during the drought.”
Rooms
The Safari- Tissa has 47 air-conditioned deluxe rooms, spread across three blocks (A, B and C).1 There are 20 rooms in A Block, with a Lake view (of the Tissa Wewa), with six rooms on the ground floor, with direct access to the garden. There are 27 rooms in B and C Blocks, with a Lake and Pool view, and 13 rooms in C Block with a balcony.
Room facilities include: twin or king size beds, in-room safe, mini-bar, mini-fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, two 500ml. drinking water bottles (replaced daily), flat-screen TV (with satellite TV), internet (Wi-Fi), dimming lights, en-suite bathroom, with a ‘rain shower’, and bathroom amenities.
The Safari- Tissa has three spacious suites: one on each floor in Block B. All Suites have Lake, Garden and Pool views, additional living space and en-suite dining. The ground floor Suite has direct garden access.
