MILLENNIUM ELEPHANT FOUNDATION IN PINNAWALA

The Millennium Elephant Foundation’s aim is to provide a home for old, retired elephants. If you want to see the elephants and help. you can wash one of them. Have elephant ride for few minutes. It’s included to your entrance ticket. You will get person to go with you and he will assist you to walk around.

There is a small “museum”, escorted person will describe you the things inside the Millennium Foundation. They will show you how to scrub the big elephant with a coconut shell. This was kind of fun. The elephant totally loved it. Foreign volunteers also work at the Millennium Foundation,
